ABOUT CHRIS
Chris Richardson is the Co-Founder of Sotheby’s International Realty, an award-winning luxury real estate brokerage serving California’s Central Coast and San Luis Obispo County.
Real estate has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I grew up in a family deeply connected to the Central Coast real estate community. My grandfather was a real estate broker, and my father founded Richardson Properties. I learned early that this business is about people, relationships, and doing what you say you’re going to do.

Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to build and lead successful real estate companies, work with exceptional people, and help clients navigate everything from luxury home sales to land and development opportunities.

Today, as Managing Broker of Central Coast Sotheby’s International Realty, I bring that experience to a more personal approach—working closely with a select number of clients and helping them make confident, informed decisions.

I’ve always believed the best results come from bringing good people together. I enjoy collaborating with talented agents and professionals who bring different strengths to the table. My clients benefit from that collective experience, and I get to do what I enjoy most: work with great people to solve problems and create opportunities.

I’ve lived in San Luis Obispo since I was 10. This isn’t just a market to me—it’s home.

I know this community the way you only can when you’ve grown up here. The neighborhoods, the people, the history. That’s something you can’t replicate, and it’s something my clients benefit from directly.

I was born in Los Angeles, and my connections to Southern California run deep. After earning my graduate degree at Loyola Marymount University, I spent more than a decade owning and operating Strand Hill, building lasting relationships throughout LA. Those connections continue to benefit my Central Coast clients today.

Over the years, I’ve been honored to receive several industry awards and designations, including Affiliate of the Year, Luxury Agent Specialist, and membership in the Master’s Circle. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and an MBA in Marketing and Management from Loyola Marymount University.
COMMUNITY + LEADERSHIP
I’ve remained actively involved in business, development, and civic leadership throughout San Luis Obispo County. I was part of the development team that helped guide the Avila Ranch master-planned community through the City approval process, resulting in the approval of more than 700 homes. I also served from 2013 to 2015 on the City of San Luis Obispo’s Council-appointed task force responsible for updating the Land Use and Circulation Elements of the General Plan.

I’m also an active member of Young Presidents’ Organization and World Business Forum, and have been honored to be recognized among the Pacific Coast Business Times’ Top 40 Under 40 and SanLuisObispo.com’s Top 20 Under 40.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me on the golf course or at the beach with my two dogs, Luna and Forrest. I love exploring great restaurants and wineries with friends, and whenever I get the chance, I’m off to Italy.

One thing I take pride in is being available to my clients. Whether it’s a Tuesday morning or a Sunday afternoon, I answer my phone. Real estate doesn’t run on business hours, and neither do I.
